CAF x SHMOG | Works from the Clouds
15th October SHMOG
In a year of radical change, the Chance Art Foundation has also experienced much, changing with the times.
It is not only to respond to the reality around us in 2020, but also to uphold the Foundation's long-held vision of facilitating the growth of contemporary art and realizing the vision of bringing art to life.
While we take a pause to review the Blank Art Salon, we are also thinking about how we can continue to put the Foundation's vision into practice. It was during this period that we met the "Annealing" project.

"Annealing" is a contemporary art crossover project that the Shanghai Museum of Glass has been working on since 2015. Over the past five years, the museum has collaborated with some of the best contemporary artists to create site-specific large-scale installations using glass materials, which are exhibited annually and have so far involved eight collaborating artists. It also expanded the language and exploration of contemporary art in an unprecedented way, making the Shanghai Museum of Glass an important practice base of contemporary art, at the same time, linking the vast spiritual world and the Zeitgeist with glass.

The Foundation appreciates the spirit of crossover, innovation and perseverance in the project, and believes that the project is highly compatible with the Foundation's vision of "creating a philanthropic platform to support the development and exchange of glass art". Finally, in August, we reached an agreement with the Shanghai Museum of Glass to sponsor the fifth anniversary special exhibition Works from the Clouds of the “Annealing” project.
We have chosen to leave the salon for a while and go outdoors in the form of free exhibition, making art accessible.

Duration: 7 November, 2020 – 31 October, 2021
Artists: Zhang Ding, Liao Fei, Yang Xinguang, Bi Rongrong, Lin Tianmiao, Liu Jianhua, Sun Xun, Kelvin Kyung Kun Park
Supported by the Chance Art Foundation, Works from the Clouds will be free for admission to the public. The exhibition will run through 31 October 2021.
