CAFx RAM Talk: Materials Represent Values: Lin Tianmiao and Feminine Art

Art critic Pi Li introduced the background to the development of Chinese female art and further interpret Lin’s art languages in her artworks in this talk, with a view to inspiring the audience to explore and understand Lin’s creations from diverse angles.
Pi also talked about how the artist challenges the hierarchy of materials and other widely-accepted notions in the contemporary art community through use of “technical materials” which are considered inferior in comparison with the so-called “elite materials.”
